Tara Houska, a prominent figure in the Native-led movement against the Line 3 pipeline that runs through Ojibwe treaty territory in northern Minnesota, is doubling down on her assessments of Regan de Loggans aka Regan Loggans aka Regan Brook Loggans as a “fraud” and a “violent, conniving colonizer.”
Loggans, who participated in the resistance against Line 3 throughout 2021, is a “violent, manipulative colonizer who targets Native spaces & Native peoples for access & $,” Houska said in a post on Twitter on March 9, 2022.
In doubling down, Houska also attempted to explain what she meant by the “strong vouch” that allowed Loggans to stay at Line 3 for so long. As Pretendian Country Today previously explained. the interloper was present multiple times on Ojibwe territory, with arrests taking place in March, August and September of 2021.
“No, a vouch by someone in movement has nothing to do with a tribal council,” Houska wrote in another post on Twitter on March 6, 2022, after another user asked what exactly was meant by the “strong vouch” term.
“It comes from a person who has been in movement, is trusted and vouched by others in frontlines spaces,” said Houska, who hails from the Couchiching First Nation.
And for emphasis: “The same person who gave the vouch rescinded it, as it was their vouch. Get it?”
So let’s attempt to unpack the “strong vouch” and its meaning in movement and frontline spaces. And let’s attempt to get to the bottom of who provided the “strong vouch.”
